We are so excited for them and for the residents they serve. I am also thoroughly impressed with the questions I am getting about the vaccination process. They are thoughtful and insightful, keep them coming.
Vaccine and Fertility
I wanted to share some information about the vaccine and fertility. We realize what an important issue this is and want you to have the best and most up-to-date information.
From The American Society for Reproductive Medicine:
“The American Society for Reproductive Medicine does not recommend avoiding the COVID-19 vaccine for patients who are planning to get pregnant. Patients undergoing fertility treatment should consider getting vaccinated when eligible based on their risk factors (such as being a healthcare worker or having higher-risk medical conditions) for COVID-19 infection. Since the vaccine is not a live virus, there is no reason to delay pregnancy attempts because you have received the vaccine or if you plan to get the vaccine later. Because the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine does not have a live virus, they are not thought to cause an increased risk of infertility, first- or second-trimester loss, stillbirth or congenital abnormalities.”
Here are two additional articles on the vaccine and fertility:

- The Covid-19 Vaccine Does Not Cause Infertility. Here’s Why People Think It Does. (Forbes)
And here’s something cool from Beverlee Cvitanov, DOR at The Commons of Elk Grove.
V-safe is a smartphone-based tool through text messaging and web survey’s to provide personal health check-ins after you receive the vaccination. It assists with research but also monitors your side effects and depending on answers, someone from the CDC may check in on you!

Testing and Symptoms
No employee can test at a facility if they have any symptoms at all! They must use an outside clinic or Medtek. It is so important to protect our residents and we can’t have anyone in a building who has ANY symptoms. Please click the button below to view the Coronavirus Policy for details.
